1. An international event with thousands of participants that takes place every two years in a different city. Tortosa and Terres de l’Ebre will host the 2019 WSG edition.

2. An international sports week combined with touristic and cultural content.

3. An international event created for amateur athletes. Young people, old men, women from different countries and cultures. Everybody can join the WSG!

4. A sport competition based on the idea of the International Workers’ Olympiad of the 1920s/30s celebrated in an environment of tolerance, respect and sustainability.

5. A festival that brings together sports friend from all over the world.

6. A great opportunity to show the cultural heritage of Tortosa and Terres de l’Ebre to the world and a perfect platform for the economic promotion of our territory.

Eight different towns will host the 24 competitions of the World Sports Games Tortosa 2019.

The opening ceremony of the World Sports Games will become a tasting of a big party in Terres de l’Ebre

The event at the stadium will be preceded by a parade of atletes through the center of Tortosa and will feature bands of music and other elements of popular folklore.

 

 

Around 300 athletes will participate in a new sport’s competition of WSG called “Fun handball”

The World Sports Games of this year will have a new competition called “Fun Handball” or also known as the handball to have fun.

 

 

42 different countries are confirmed for the World Sports Games Tortosa 2019

Left than one month to start the WSG and we can confirm that at least we will host 42 countries in the competition.
