Corona Virus COVID-19 is malfunctioning our society and also our sports-program for 2020 heavily!
At this moment Europe and North America is suffering of the spread of the Corona Covid-19 virus. Central/South America is a bit behind, but unfortunately will follow soon.
The CSIT Executive Committee is more and more worrying about the health of our athletes and the success of our championships. We are standing for the health of our athletes and not sending them around the globe, where they can get infected by COVID-19. Therefore we have decided now to postpone two of our planned Single-Championships.
DECISIONS:
We have taken the decision to postpone the CSIT Beachvolleyball Championships in Acapulco / MEX (30.06.2020 until 06.07.2020) and the CSIT Tennis Championships in Pajulahti / FIN (26.07.2020 until 01.08.2020) to a later date in 2020, with view to the COVID-19 Pandemic development, to earliest September 2020 or to 2022.
The CSIT Swimming Championships in Oulu / FIN (26.-30.08.2020) will be under observation and a decision will be made short after the preliminary registration deadline (April 29th).
Anything else would be irresponsible at the moment, but simultaneously we are very sorry about this development. Further decisions will follow about next steps (postponement, cancellation), and we kindly ask you also to inform all meanwhile registered participants.
